Indie titles that include some form of crafting, management, and dungeons are typically well-received. So when Lazy Bear Games announced that it was working on a title that mashes all that together with the prospect of managing your own medieval graveyard, my ears perked up. Afterall, I don’t recall the last time I managed a cemetery.

Graveyard Keeper Launch Trailer

Graveyard Keeper touts itself as “the most inaccurate medieval cemetery sim of the year.” It’s probably a safe bet to say that’s true. In Graveyard Keeper you build and manage your own cemetery and try to do so in the most efficient and cost-beneficial way. Of course, like any good business simulator, that means cutting costs wherever necessary, and Graveyard Keeper ensures that you’ll face many ethical dilemmas.

Do you really want to spend money on that proper hotdog meat for the festival when you have so many resources lying around?

Graveyard Keeper Features

Aside from managing dead bodies and keeping your customers happy, you’ll also get to expand your cemetery, upgrade items, and even explore medieval dungeons.

  • Gather valuable materials and craft new items. Expand your Graveyard into a thriving business. Help yourself – gather the valuable resources scattered across the surrounding areas, and explore what this land has to offer.
  • Quests and corpses. These dead bodies don’t need all those organs, do they? Why not grind them up and sell them to the local butcher? Or you can go on proper quests, you roleplayer.
  • Explore mysterious dungeons. No medieval game would be complete without those! Take a trip into the unknown, and discover new alchemy ingredients – which may or may not poison a whole bunch of nearby villagers.

Graveyard Keeper is now available on Xbox One and for PC on Steam with a special launch discount. Stay tuned to TL;DR Games for a full review coming in the future.
